I have produced several events for Atlas Obscura. My first Atlas Obscura event was the History of Burlesque: Lecture Cabaret. For this event I hired a doctoral student who is studying burlesque and worked with her to develop a show based around her lecture. The historical lecture on burlesque was complemented by performances illustrating different styles. The six phenomenal performers brought the story of burlesque to life with their on point representations of each period of burlesque history. The event was a financial success, selling out several days prior; it was also hugely popular, drawing a very focused and enthusiastic crowd. The venue, Acme Studios, was thrilled to host such a colorful event and the performers are looking forward to working with myself and Atlas Obscura again in the future.
