The Battle of Gettysburg remains the bloodiest battle in our nation's history. Confederate and Union forces fought for three days in a battle that proved in hindsight to be the turning point of the Civil War.
Join the Obscura Society as we explore this moment in history through the eyes of several soldiers from both sides of the conflict. Curators at the Gilder Lehrman Collection will provide us with special access to original letters from the battlefield. With these historic documents at hand we will immerse ourselves in the horror and glory of one of the great turning points in history. We will conclude our evening with casual conversation with the curators over wine and cookies (included).
